The Bike

'Travel opens the mind;  motorcycle travel opens the mind, heart and soul.'  (Anon)

Most visitors to this site may only be interested in the travel blog and photos.  (Sadly, most of those were on the previous website - so ignore the web address in the above photo!)

But for myself, and fellow motorcyclists, this section may be of interest too and I've reproduced it here.

I’m not the most mechanically-adept guy around. In fact, a belt buckle is likely to have me struggling.

But, by buying the Adventure specification of the model, I’ve gained many of the modifications that I made to my previous GS.

Still, there are one or two quirks that may be of interest. For everything else, there’s a delightful mix of Touratech, Wunderlich, BMW own-brand catalogues to peruse, and many many specialist part providers to part you with your hard-earned...

But don’t forget - people have done these trips on off-the-shelf bikes of many different hues and Harley’s. Adding farkles is just part of the fun of trip preparation.
